Coconut Sweet Chilli Borewors

Kenyan mutura- Borewors-How to cook borewors-Kenyan food blogger-Best food blog kenya- African food blogger-Top food blog Kenya- Best recipes in Kenya-East African Food blo0g

Do you know how to pronounce borewors? I always do it in English and when my South African friend Theo says it,  he makes it sound super sophisticated [ˈbuːrəvors]. Borewors is basically a sophisticated mutura. Mutura for those of you who do not know is an African sausage. So is Borewors. The difference comes in with what is inside. Borewors is made from 90% minced meat and 10% spices. Mutura is made with 90% innards (intestines, tripe-Matumbo-) 10 % blood and spices.

Both are great for the barbeque or choma (literally translating to burn LOL on a bbq). I have never tried making Mutura any other way. Perhaps next time I should. With borewors I had a Zimbabwean ex who would stew it just like you would beef stew and I always enjoyed it just as much as I did the bbq borewors. When I asked Theo the other day how I should make the borewors he told me that they sometimes cook it in chakalaka (a relish of sorts made with beans in a tomato based sauce). I had no time to start researching how to make it so I decided to work with what I had in my pantry. My famous Sweet Chilli sauce which is eeerrrything you need to try it. You can buy it here and mix that with coconut milk and I tell you MY GAWD!!!! you will just be singing hallelujah as you eat. To be honest I was very surprised by how good this turned out to be. It was 10x better the next day, it gave me life.

Hoping you and your family love it as much as we did.

Happy cooking!!
