Tales of Fake Scotch!!!
So over the last few weekends my friends have all been home on R&R (rest and recuperation) and its been quite a lonely time š You sometimes do not realise that its the people in your life that make it your life till hey ALL leave you in the desert. Anyway last weekend i invited my friends Dennis and Krista to come over for dinner and i made a fish curry, some rosemary potatoes and dhania rice. I think they quite enjoyed it. after dinner we decided to go over to their compound ( we work for different organizations) for a drink.
So we went and i THINK they do not sell spirits in tots so we had to buy a whole bottle. I then got a bottle of JohnnieĀ Walker. As i drunk it i kept think ” gosh this thing has a funny taste” but my other voice told me i was being paranoid.
On to the morning AFTER!!! I woke up feeling like I had drunk a whole litre of vodka even though I had probably only had about 4 tots. i felt ill. My head was paining and it wasn’t paining, my stomach was paining and it wasn’t paining, i was thirsty but i didn’t want water. it was such a HORRIBLE feeling. So i decided to look at the bottle that i had bought at Kathrines and what was the first thing i saw????? the seal on the cap was written 750ml!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh. ok then i put it aside and forgot about it as i nursed my hang over.
Two nights ago I decided to compare the Johnnie I bought at Kathrines with what I had from the commissary and boy was there a big difference! As evident on the photo the color on the smaller bottle is much lighter, the smell is also a bit different and obviously from experience the taste is too. This guys of river road seem to have penetrated all markets. How sad!!
Well I am never buying a bottle from there again. Might just resort to carrying a sippy cup š
KITCHEN GARDEN UPDATE-3
So itās been a week since my last update and almost two months since I started. During last update I had informed you guys of how someone had decided that I did not need my carrot and spring onion seedlings and decided to uproot them but on the upside my baby spinach, dhania (coriander) and lettuce seemed to be doing great.
Well two weeks later and the plot to the drama thickens. My spinach had really grown. In fact I had begun to harvest. Then one night someone decided that my spinach was dirty enough that it needed to be washed with some Omo (powdered washing soap) that had been dissolved in water!!!!! I say the person came at night because when the plants were watered at night they were ok the next morning when I was at work the guy who checks them for me came to water the plants and low and behold foam came up!! This was such a deliberate act that whoever the culprit is just targeted my two spinach seed beds which are apart and left out the lettuce and dhania in between!!
SOā¦.this has led to many of my spinach wilting and others dying completely L it is very sad that someone can actually be this malicious but Karma is a bitch so he/she will get theirs.
On to better news, See how lovely my Dhanias are Ā š
And my lettuce š
I grew more carrots so this are still about 2 weeks olds
And spring onions as well.
So hopefully next week Iāll have all good news
BREADLESS BLT SANDWICH

When I first read about the BLT sandwich on a menu a couple of years ago in a coffee shop I REALLY wondered what this people were on about. Iām from the village so you canāt blame me for taking a minute to get what BLT stood for, when I finally got it I wondered why on earth could they just not call it a simpleā¦BACON, LETTUCE AND TOMATO sandwich?????? Anyway, Iām done with my bickering. Anything that has bacon in it tastes great so the original BLT is tasty so when I saw this over on Pinterest just over a week ago I had to try it. It was AMAZINGā¦..it’s always interesting the recipes the girl over at SkinnyTaste comes up with. It was like a really tasty, refreshing, healthy yet decadent salad. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. HAPPY COOKING!!!
