Tastes of Dubai
I always say that I love to travel. No, I do not like the packing, the driving or flying but I love getting to the destination, exploring and eating my way through a town. For me, there is a lot to learn about a culture through their food.
I love to talk to the locals about their food preparation methods, what spices they use, what food they cook for different occasions etc. I get so excited over such things. I have been to Dubai severally and I always try and eat new things but some places I will always always go to. Like the restaurant at Florida Hotel at Sabkha station. GOSH! Their curries are amazing and their parrata is heaven on earth. It is chapo with a million and ten layers. Anyway let me tell you the other places I ate at!
Wendys at Al Ghurair Mall
This was the Mr’s favourite. He actually had it thrice in the week we were there. He had thebeefanator burger each time. It is quite amazing. Just the right amount of salt and creaminess to make it deliciously decadent.
The Sushi burger at Yakitake, Al Ghurair Mall
Now this is something I never had and when I saw the poster at the entrance of Al ghurair mall, I just had to try it. It was basically big sushi, with salmon, some spicy sauce and topped with caviar heheh how . It was soooo good. Good enough that I wanted to go a second time but I never got time. They also have rice burgers and ramen burgers.
Afghan Darbar
My pal Fiona, of FionaKay (She has amazing clothes you should check out her stuff here), has lived in Dubai for a while so she suggested we meet here. We had a platter with rice and some lamb kebab. It was so amazing. I was happy that I now have a new place to go to each time I go to Dubai. I loved it but not enough to go multiple times like I do with Florida LOL but that is an obsession
Florida Hotel Deira at Sabkaha Station
Mimi let me tell you, heheh, this place is my all time favourite. We probably ate here every night. That is how much I love it. They close the kitchen at midnight so that is a plus and it is budget friendly. Food and juice for two was between AED 50 to 60. I always have the same paratta and kadai either mutton or chicken. HEAVEN! Read more about it here
Here are a few more places I ate at.
Cinnabons these I always get, I even carried some home. I have a recipe that tries to copy this but nothing beats the original. Find the Cinnabon Cinnamon roll recipe here
oooh they also had a nutella cinnabon….it was the bomb.com
Food at IKEA is always bomb. The calamari is the best I have ever had TBH
MMMMMMHHH London Fish and Chips
Charlie Philly steak sandwich was also bomb the cheese and bacon fries not so much. Maybe because it was fake bacon heheh
I hope I have made your choices for food in Dubai easier the next time you are there.
Follow me on instagram I post all my pics there.
