Whiteish bumps on your babys precious lips after a feed?

Have you ever seen these whiteish bumps on your babys precious lips after a feed? These are lip blisters and they are one of the many signs that can indicate tethered oral tissues. When a baby needs to remain latched but has a tongue restriction, the lips have to act as the primary seal to get the milk they need. The lips are basically holding on for dear life and that’s why the blisters form. It can be a sign of the tongue not functioning well. In conjunction with other signs, it can help give clues that something is off. Other signs can include painful nursing or damaged nipples, misshaped lipstick nipples after a feed, frustration at the breast, clicking sounds, sensitive gag reflex, poor weight gain, grassiness,spit-up or reflux type symptoms, recessed chin, high palate, recurring clogged ducts.
If any of these symptoms sound familiar, please find a provider who is trained in tongue ties. NOT all pediatricians or dentists or lactation consultants are knowledgeable to recognize or diagnose them.

Forceful or overactive let down

Baby will gag, choke, strangle, gulp, gasp, cough while nursing as though the milk is coming too fast.
Pull off the breast often while nursing.
Try this next time:
Position baby in a tummy to tummy position with his/her head tilted back slightly and the chin touching your breast. This will direct the flow of milk up toward the hard palate and not to the back of baby’s throat, making it more comfortable for baby to manage the flow.
Experiment with different positions that will give baby more control such as:
•side-lying
•semi-reclined: leaning back in a sitting position
•koala hold
•nursing in a carrier

Heal your inner child

“If something someone does causes suffering ( emotionally) within you. It’s YOUR trigger.” – April Adam’s
When your child’s behaviour triggers you, it’s a sign that you need to heal your inner child before becoming healed adult/ parent.
I have fear of wounding my children. That triggers me, imagining them as adults suffering from the same traumas I’m trying to heal.
Have you figured out your traumas? Or your wounds?
If you have or you haven’t,
